The Name Sophie
Sophie's name is found throughout the records with various spellings. This is common since spelling was not standardized until the late 19th century. Some of the variations are listed below
Birth Record: Sophie Household Records 1828- 1851: Sophia
Marriage Record: Sophie Household Record 1855-1862: Sophie
Death Record: Sofia Household Record 1862-1877: Sofia

Understanding that spelling was not consistent helped accept records with different spellings to find the records from Sophie's life. I try to be consistent with spelling using the spelling found on her birth record. However, there are times I will refer to a record using the spelling found on that record.

In the past, researchers have searched for the parents of Sofia Jeppsson. It was assumed that she married Nils Elof Martini in 1850 or 1851 in Högseröd, Malmöhus, Sweden. Högseröd is the place of birth for Nils and Sofia's first two children. According to Källnä household records, the family moved from Högseröd in 1855. In 1889, a fire destroyed the church records from 1844-1889 for Högseröd parish this presented a roadblock for researchers searching for Sofia. In 2015, in conjunction with a Scandinavian records class, I found the marriage record for Nils Elof Martini and Sofia Jeppsson in Gudmuntorp, Malmöhus, Sweden.
